I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - We Are The Tigers Reunion Concert

What: We Are The Tigers Reunion Concert

Where: 54 Below
             254 W. 54 St.
             New York, NY

When: This event took place on Monday, July 31, 2023

We Are The Tigers is a musical about a group of cheerleaders trying to survive their annual sleepover while a serial killer is on the loose. The show played at the now-defunct Theater 80 in 2019. The show was extremely fun and not as gory as you would think although it was somewhat gory. It was full of extremely catchy songs, and an original cast recording was released in April of 2019.

Two cast reunion concerts were held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 54 Below. The later concert was also available for streaming. The following original cast members appeared at the concerts:

Wonu Ogunfowora
Jenny Rose Baker
Kaitlyn Frank
Celeste Rose
Zoe Jensen
Sydney Parra

Original cast members, Lauren Zakrin, MiMi Scardulla, and Cathy Ang, did not appear due to illness, prescribed vocal rest, and/or prior commitments.

During the course of the event, the entire score of the show was sung. The show's composer, lyricist, and book writer, Preston Max Allen provided intros, any necessary story background and even filled in for MiMi on the song, Captain of the Team.

The show was fun as ever even with only songs and a minimum of dialogue. Except for a little bit of trouble with the harmony on a song or two, the singing was fabulous. The genuine camaraderie between the cast members, many of whom may not have worked together or even seen each other since the show ended, was heartwarming. All in all, it was an extremely delightful event.
