I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Me - Seussical is based on Dr. Seuss's works. The show is full of characters from his book including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, and Gertrude McFuzz among others. It is a cute show. The story is mostly taken from Horton Hears a Who and Horton Hatches an Egg, but there are some things from other Dr. Seuss books that are thrown in as well.

The show has some nice songs although none stick in my mind. They are mostly upbeat and lively.

The performances in Centenary Stage Company's production of the show. were good. None of the performers really stood out to me, but they mostly all did a good job of portraying the familiar characters. There were also characters I was not familiar with in the show, and the actors playing them did a good job with their roles as well.

Seussical is an especially good show for young children. They will love to see a show full of their favorite characters. Also, the story is mostly familiar and is not at all scary. It's mostly just a happy, fun show that anyone can enjoy.

Mom - Seussical is a fun musical populated with Dr. Seuss characters. However, if you were hoping that the plot would combine many different Seuss stories into one, you may be disappointed. The plot mainly focuses on the Horton the Elephant stories with only bits and pieces of other stories included although there are plenty of other Dr. Seuss characters who appear in the story as well. The Cat in the Hat in particular plays a big part in the show and serves as a narrator.

The show is quite lively and fun. It is full of upbeat songs. Some like the catchy opening number, Oh, The Thinks You Can Think, may even stick in your head.

It is a great family musical. Although some older children may consider themselves too sophisticated for the show. Still, if you just regard the whole thing as a fun nostalgia trip, anyone can truly enjoy it.

Centenary Stage Company does a good job with the show. The set is fun. The costumes are colorful. The acting is good and for the most part, the singing is too. All in all, it's a pleasant way to spend a day (or night) out with the family.
