I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Shaun Cassidy: The Magic of a Midnight Sky

What:
Shaun Cassidy: The Magic of a Midnight Sky

Where: 54 Below
              254 W. 54 St.
              New York, NY

When: This event took place in June of 2023

Recently Shaun Cassidy played a series of shows in New York City at 54 Below. The shows
were part of a short tour he embarked on and concluded in the month of June. It was his first time touring and playing shows for live audiences since he left his teen idol days behind and began a career as a writer and producer of television shows.

Although the voice was perhaps a little rougher, a hint of that boyish charm still remains and the love between Cassidy and his audience remains steadfast. The set list included not only the hits that the fans clamored for but other songs as well. There were tributes to his parents, Shirley Jones, known for the film versions of Oklahoma, Carousel, and The Music Man, and the TV show, The Partridge Family and to his late father, Jack Cassidy, a Broadway and movie star. There was a Partridge Family song in tribute to his late half-brother, David Cassidy, who also starred in the hit TV show. There was even a song from Blood Brothers, the musical he and David starred in on Broadway in the early 1990s.

In between the song, Cassidy had plenty of stories to share. There were stories about growing up in Hollywood. There were stories about his mother, his father, his brother, David, and more. It was really interesting listening to him talk and getting a glimpse into what his life was like and finding out interesting facts about his equally famous if not more famous loved ones.

All in all, it was an incredibly fun evening of nostalgia and song.

And that's our view. To find out about upcoming shows at 54 Below and/or purchase tickets, visit 54below.org.
