Soomi Kim is a performance artist and former gymnast and long-time gymnastic coach making her the perfect person to create a piece focusing on the current reckoning in the sport of gymnastics and the actions that led up to it. The show is made up of dance and gymnastics interspersed with actual gymnastics-related newsreel and interviews along with scenes of Soomi alternately recalling her life as a young gymnast and as a coach being interrogated as to abusive practices. It features the performances of six current elite young gymnasts. Even if think you already know everything there is to know about the US Gymnastics scandal and its aftermath, this thought-provoking piece will shock you anew.  One can only hope that if these talented young girls remain in the sport, their path forward is a safer and kinder one in every way, and if it is, it will definitely be due to the brave young women who came before them.
