I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Plimoth Grist Mill

We were given complimentary tickets to the Plimoth Grist Mill for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Plimoth Grist Mill

Where: 6 Spring Ln,
             Plymouth, MA

Who: School-age children and Up

Me - The Plimoth Grist Mill was interesting. I never went to a grist mill before so it was fascinating to learn about what they do. It was fun. There were a lot of interactive exhibits and models and things that showed how the different parts of the mill were operated. That was a much more exciting way to learn about the mill than just hearing someone talk about it.

They also had other informative things like a poster of different things that can be made with corn. Some were surprising like ketchup. There was also an amusing chalkboard full of corny jokes. You could also share one of your own corny jokes if you wanted to.

Although you can learn the things you learn at the mill in other ways, like in science glass, it is much more fun to learn them by visiting the Plimoth Grist Mill.

Mom - The Plimoth Grist Mill is a reconstruction of a 1636  grist mill. However, this mill unlike other grist mills you can visit is not just a place where you can learn about how grist mills operate and maybe get a demonstration. You can do that here. Well, at least the part about hearing somebody talk about how the mill operates. However, there is so much more to the Plimoth Grist Mill than that.  It is not just a place where you can watch and listen, it is a place where you participate and learn by doing.

The lower part of the building is filled with fun hands-on activities you can participate in to really learn about the inner workings of the mill. Learn how the gears work, see how water makes the wheel turn, and more.  Even for anyone who shudders at the very thought of taking science class,  it's an exciting and fun way to learn some.

And that's our view. For more about the Plimoth Grist Mill or to purchase tickets for a visit, go to https://plimoth.org/plan-your-visit/explore-our-sites/plimoth-grist-mill

Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
