I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday Books: Little Miss Fortune & Music: Rockers on Broadway, Vol 1

We may have been given complimentary copies for review purposes of any books and/or other products mentioned below and/or access to any audio or visual media. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: Little Miss Fortune

Today we are talking about Litte Miss Fortune by Sans Emmert. This is story is basically a take on the Jon Benet Ramsey case from the point of view of the perpetrator. Damon is a would-be filmmaker. While it is true he doesn't have an easy life, that doesn't excuse his actions. While the author tries to portray him as sympathetic because of his horrible life which causes him to have a psychological break and want to act out his terrible revenge fantasy instead of just spinning it into a screenplay, this does not really mitigate his actions in any way. They are still appalling. Damon is not all that likable to begin with. None of the characters in the book are all that likable. The only reason to read this book is morbid curiosity as to what may have happened in the Jon Benet Ramsey case although the scenario presented in this story is highly unlike.

Music: Rockers on Broadway: Live Volume 1

Today we are recommending Rockers on Broadway: Live Volume 1. This album is a compilation of performances from Rockers on Broadway concerts featuring Tony and Grammy-winning artists singing hit rock songs. Singers featured on the album include LaChanze, Alex Brightman, Michael Cerveris and more. Although none of the performances really stand out more than any of the others, for the most part, they do a nice job with their songs. Paul Williams and Mickey Dolenz, however, should have left well enough alone their takes on Rainbow Connection and I'm a Believer just make them sound old and make you long for the original versions of the songs. However, overall the album is still worth listening to and its sales are for a good cause as all proceeds will go to the PATH Fund, Inc., an organization that supports arts education.

Rockers on Broadway: Live Volume 1 is available now on all streaming and download channels For more information, visit rockersonbroadway.com

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
