Where-To-Go Wednesday - Vera Paints A Scarf
What: Vera Paints A Scarf
Where: The Museum of Arts and Design
2 Columbus Circle
New York, NY
Who: All ages
When: Through January 26, 2020
Me- Vera Paints a Scarf is one of the current exhibits at the Museum of Arts and Design. It is full of color and light. The whole exhibit projects happiness. I especially love all the butterflies. There is a red one with white polka dots, and a pink one and a blue and purple one and more. There was even a dress with blue butterflies. There was a whole section with about a million different ways to fold a napkin. It was suprisingly cool. I had no idea there were so many ways to fold a napkin. There was a painting of tiny little ladybug. It was so small you could barely see it on the canvas. There were lots of other paintings too. Many of them were of flowers. They were nice. There were clothes and other objects too. They were also very colorful. It is definitely worth a visit to this cheerful exhibit.
Mom - The current exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design, Vera Paints a Scarf is devoted to the artist, Vera Neumann. Ms. Neumann was the creator of the American Lifestyle brand and was known for her line of scarfs decorated with ladybugs and other designs from her drawings, paintings and collages. The exhibit contains not only numerous examples of Ms. Neumann's artwork, but hundreds of items from her design collection as well including clothing, napkins, dinnerware and more. The exhibit is not exactly interactive but you can pick up a brochure that will teach you 14 different ways to tie a scarf. The exhibit is fun, cheerful and full of bright colors that may even make it attractive to children. They may also enjoy all the beautiful flowers, butterflies, and ladybugs and other objects of nature prominently featured on so many of the items or the cool patterns featured on so many of the others. A trip through this joyful exhibit is sure to brighten anyone's day.
