Books: The Sea of Japan
Mom - Today I am recommending The Sea of Japan by Keita Nagano. Lindsey is an American woman sent to teach English in the tiny fishing hamlet of Hime, Japan. After almost drowning, she meets Ichiro, the fisherman who saved her life, and she finds herself at the center of a fight to save the town. This is a very fast paced book. Lindsay is a very gutsy and feisty heroine who is definitely not afraid to stand up for herself and those she cares about and take action. Her relationship with Ichiro is sweet but very very slow. This is not at all a book that is over the top romantic so if you are looking for that sort of thing you will be disappointed. The book especially the last section of it would make a great action movie, however, so if you enjoy action movies in book form, you would really like this book. The author so vividly brings to life the town and its inhabitants and their fight to save their town that you really feel like you are middle of it right along with Lindsay.
Misc.: Knack
Mom - Today I am recommending Knack bags. These great bags makes overnight travel so much easier. No longer do you need a separate bag for your laptop. There is room for a laptop and so much more in these expandable bags. In addition to a large laptop pocket and plenty of space for a change of clothes, there are a bunch of other pockets of various sizes for other items as well. Although these bags are not big enough for any trip that will be of a long duration, for a short trip a Knack bag is all you need.
And that's Mom's view.
Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
