I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

             410 W. 42nd St.
             New York, NY

Sober Songs is a new musical that addresses the serious issue of substance abuse. However, it does not do so in a completely heavy-handed manner. It is replete with songs that sound lively, upbeat, and even fun, but are actually full of meaningful lyrics that truthfully convey what it's like to be an addict.

This is not to say that the overall tone of the show is light, happy, and or uplifting. There are some very dark aspects to the story as one would expect in a story like this. Some of the darker aspects are, in fact, some of the more clichéd aspects of the story; however, that doesn't make them any less truthful to the subject. All in all, if you want to see a show that provides an honest look at the problem of addiction without completely hitting you over the head with it, this show is a good choice.

And that's our view. For more about Sober Songs or to purchase tickets, visit www.sobersongsthemusical.com.
