I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - The Weir

We received complimentary tickets to The Weir for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Where: Irish Repertory Company
            132 W. 22nd St.
            New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 12 and Up

When: Through August 31, 2025

The Weir is not a show where big things happen. Instead, it's a show about human connection.  In an age before everyone was constantly glued to their cell phones, a group of people gather at a bar, drinking and talking. The darkness of the bar, coupled with the storm raging outside its doors, creates an atmosphere of eeriness. This is the perfect backdrop for the night of shared mostly ghostly stories that quickly ensues. Although the show meanders along at a slow pace, the good rapport among the characters and the intriguing stories they tell keep things interesting. If you are not a fan of ghostly stories or unsolved mysteries, you likely won't appreciate this show, but if you are, you should particularly enjoy it.

And that's our view. For more about The Weir or to purchase tickets, visit irishrep.org/show/2024-2025-season/2024-2025-season-the-weir.

Tune in Saturday for Still More Theater Saturday.
