I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Ginger Twinsies

We received complimentary tickets to Ginger Twinsies for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Ginger Twinsies

Where: Orpheum Theatre
             126 2nd Ave.
             New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up

When: Through October 26, 2025

Ginger Twinsies is an unauthorized parody of the Lindsay Lohan version of The Parent Trap. Unlike the movie, the show is completely inappropriate for children due to vulgarity, language, sexual situations, and more. There may even be too much of that for some adults' taste.

The show is not a musical, but it does include one song, which parodies the theater's previous long-term tenant, Stomp. The song is quite humorous at first. However, the joke (and the song) go on so long that it becomes unfunny and actually rather annoying, which makes it particularly relatable to Stomp.

You don't necessarily have to have seen the film to enjoy the show. It is full of plenty of other fun pop culture references, aside from the ones from the movie it's based on. They include numerous Broadway references and more. There is even at least one reference to the original Hayley Mills version of The Parent Trap. On the whole, if you are a fan of particularly raunchy humor, you will likely find the show quite amusing. If not, you might not enjoy it as much.
