I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Nunsense II: The Second Coming

We were given complimentary tickets to Nunsense II: The Second Coming for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Nunsense II: The Second Coming

Where: Centenary Stage Company
              715 Grand Ave.
              Hackettstown, NJ

Who: Recommended for Ages 11 and Up

When: Through August 10, 2025

Nunsense II: The Second Coming is like a pale imitation of the original Nunsense. The story doesn't make as much sense, nor is it quite as funny. The songs are not as good or as memorable. This is not to say that there aren't some fun songs like "Nunsense is a Magic Word", "Winning is Just the Beginning", and "I Got Pizzaz". However, they are not as funny nor do they stick in your head as much as such songs as "Nunsense is Habit Forming", "A Difficult Transition", "Holier Than Thou", and more from the original show.

However, that being said, Centenary Stage Company's current production of the show is a pleasant surprise. The voices are gorgeous. The performances are ebullient and joyous. They actually make this mediocre, at best, show into a cheerful celebration that you won't want to miss.

And that's our view. For more about Nunsense II: The Second Coming or to purchase tickets to the remaining weekend of performances, go to www.centenarystageco.org/nunsense2

Tune in Sunday for this week's Sunday Scoop.
