Avalona: A Musical Legend is an immersive musical. The story literally happens all around you. At some point a character in the show may even reach out and touch your hand so if you don't like that, don't sit in the front row.
The show is the story of an epic quest. Vocally and visually it is beautiful. The story is mostly told through song, and the voices are lovely. The lighting and projection are quite effective as well. The choreography is great too.
However, while the soaring songs are pretty to listen to, they don't really explain what is happening from moment to moment. Thus, the lack of dialogue makes it hard to follow the story.
If just the idea of a story involving a legend or epic quest excites you, and you don't really care about the story itself, you will likely enjoy this show. Otherwise, maybe not.
