Today we are recommending Public/Private My Life with Joe Papp at the Public Theatre. This is a fascinating look at theater impresario, Joe Papp founder of both Shakespeare in the Park and the Public Theatre as seen through the eyes of a woman who was not only the developer of new plays at the Public but also his wife. The book not only delves thoroughly into the history of the public theatre and many of the famous plays and musicals that began there but also into the life of Joseph Papp himself including what he was like as a person, what he really cared about and so much more.
Numerous actors, directors, choreographers, and more who were a part of Shakespeare in the Park and/or the Public Theater during Joe's tenure are discussed as well and/or quoted. The book even includes a collection of extensive lists of actors, directors, etc. who were a part of the Public Theater in some way during Joe's time there. Whether you are a theater fan, a history fan or you just want to know more about Shakespeare in the Park, the Public Theatre, and/or Joe Papp, you are definitely going to want to read this quite engrossing book.

Movie: Perfect Harmony
Today we are recommending Perfect Harmony. When her rockstar boyfriend dumps her right before Christmas, songwriter, Harmony returns to her hometown where she meets Luke and young, Weston and gets sucked into helping put on the annual town holiday show. The only thing original about this story is the handful of new holiday songs that were written for it. Everything else about it is cliche and/or predictable, and yet it is still quite a touching and heartwarming film. If you are looking for cute romance, the sweetness of real and found family, and/or warm holiday vibes, you will probably enjoy it.
Perfect Harmony will be available on VOD starting Friday, December 1, 2023.
Misc.: Crafty Jackie's Sudsy Succulents
Today we are recommending Crafty Jackie's Sudsy Succulents. Sudsy Succulents are a set of 5 soaps in various shapes. They allegedly contain a calming eucalyptus scent although we did not notice that effect when using them. However, they do a great job of cleaning your hands without making them feel sticky, and they are a pretty addition to any bathroom.
