All the Devils Are Here: How Shakespeare Invented the Villian is Patrick Page's one-man examination of the evolution of the character of the villain in Shakespeare's works and how that influenced later works of other playwrights as well Although it is obviously not a show with a linear storyline and a plot, it is quite fascinating and will definitely hold your attention for its full approximately one and a half hour duration. Mr. Page's demeanor toward the audience is so warm and inviting that it is hard to believe that he himself excels at playing villains. Yet every time, he quotes a passage from a show you can very easily picture him in that part and anyone who has ever seen him in one of his many villainous roles can surely attest to his skillful portrayals.
It might seem like a show like this would feel more like a lecture than a performance. However, Mr. Page is so personable that it actually feels more like an intimate gathering of friends. It's lovely to have the opportunity to experience this personal side of him and not just see him through the characters he plays as we usually do. Even though this is a show about villains, it will leave you happy and satisfied both emotionally and intellectually.
