What: Jerry Herman the Broadway Legacy Concert

We recently had the opportunity to attend the Broadway Legacy Concert at NJPAC. The show featured a quintet of seasoned theatrical performers accompanied by special guest star, Ken Page whose own credits include the original cast of Cats. They joyfully sang and danced their way through numerous songs in Jerry Herman's immense catalog of songs. Shows covered included both his more well-known and popular shows like Hello Dolly, La Cage Aux Folles, and Mame as well as songs from lesser-known shows like The Grand Tour. The evening also included a performance by a young up-and-comer chosen from the Jerry Herman Legacy Program Master Class that took place in conjunction with the show. Similar master classes, as well as seminars, take place in every area the show travels to. All in all, it was a glorious evening of song celebrating a true titan of music.
