I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Television

We were given complimentary tickets to Television for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Television

Where: The wild project
            195 E. 3rd St.
            New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up

When: Through April 22, 2023

When a small town TV station loses its CBS affiliation, it begins to rely on the town's people particularly the members of one family to provide programming. Despite the description which makes it seems like this show would be a hilarious comedy, it is actually a serious drama so if you are not expecting that you may be disappointed. It is also somewhat dark. At first, it seems like these people are a happy loving family, but there is a lot going on beneath the surface.

Although the show takes place in the 1950s in the days of early television, it is very timely in that it is a reflection of our current world in which everyone can put themselves out there and open their lives to the world through social media, Even things that should be kept private end up get aired.

The ending of the show was kind of abrupt, however. It would have been nice to see how these characters reacted to their platform being taken away, but the audience is left hanging just as the characters are.
