On the Right Track is a series of stories about three different couples at a crossroads in their lives and/or their relationships traveling on a train. Although the title may make it seem like it's a light happy musical. the subject matter is actually pretty serious and includes a man contemplating having an affair and a political spin doctor having an ethical crisis about the kind of people she represents. The show is not really a heavy drama though because these people's problems are solved magically. Plus, there is plenty of humor in the show.
Dana Aber and Cody Gerszewksi do a nice job in a variety of roles as does David L. Murray Jr. as the magical conductor. The singing is nice although none of the songs are especially memorable. You won't be able to get some of the song titles out of your head, however, particularly one with a part of the male anatomy in the title. That song and the subject matter of the show make it inappropriate for children.
This is not a show that is going to stick in your head for a long time or that you or going to feel the need to see again. However, it is an entertaining enough way to spend a couple of hours.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
