I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Great Reasons to See Wicked!

As we wait for Broadway to fully reopen with many shows now scheduled to reopen as early as September, this is the eighth post in our series, Great Reasons to See... focusing on different shows returning to Broadway or coming to Broadway soon.

Here are some great reasons to see Wicked.

1) It's a different look at a classic tale.

2) At its heart it's the story of a great friendship.

3) Audiences in New York have been seeing and loving it for over 16 years.

4) Audiences around the country and all over the world have been seeing and loving it for many years as well.

3) It has a great Grammy-winning score that includes such favorites as Popular and Defying Gravity. Its score even made TimeOut New York's list of the Best Original Cast Albums of the 21st Century.

4) It has been nominated for numerous Tony, Drama Desk, and  Outer Critic Circle Awards and won many.

5) Touring productions of the show have also been nominated for numerous awards and won many as have productions in other countries including Australia and Brazil.

7) It's got cool special effects including a girl who flies in a bubble, a girl who flies without one, and more.

8)  You never know who you'll see in the cast. Even if you haven't heard of them before you see them in the show, chances are you'll see them again. Wicked cast members over the years have included Idina Menzel, Kara Lindsay, Rue McLanahan, Alex Brightman, Andy Karl, Kevin Chamberlin, and many  more.  They have starred in such subsequent shows as Aladdin, Groundhog Day, School of Rock, A Bronx Tale, and many more.

9) It's just a really fun show.

And that's our view. Wicked returns to Broadway on September 14, 2021. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit wickedthemusical.com.
