I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: WIn a copy of The Book of Awesome Women Writers in the In Everything Give Thanks Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the In Everything Give Thanks Giveaway Hop hosted by MamatheFox

So much has happened this year that isn't so great. That's why it is especially important this holiday season to count the blessings we do have. For one thing, we can be grateful to have the ability to read. For another, we can be grateful that there are so many great authors writing so many wonderful books for us to choose from. The Book of Awesome Women Writers highlights some of the plethora of talented female authors. It covers the earliest women writers who you've probably never heard of like Aphra Behn, Christine De Pisan and more straight through to more contemporary authors like Judy Blume and Joyce Carol Oates, and more. Although it could not possibly cover every women writer that ever lived and maybe not even every women writer that deserves to be covered, it does cover quite a lot. Reading it is so inspiring that it will make you even more grateful for these fabulous female authors and the noteworthy books they've shared with us. For more about this book, see our previous post Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Book of Awesome Women Writers. Enter to win a copy below.

  2. I have always loved Emily Dickinson. Her poetry books really made me get into writing my own poems.

  3. As a child, I was strongly inspired by Louisa May Alcott's Little Women and read the book numerous times. Like most girls - I'm guessing - I wanted to be strong, smart, bold, and full of action like Jo.
