I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - The Cher Show

What: The Cher Show

Where: Neil Simon Theatre
             250 W. 52nd St.
             New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up

Mom's view:Upon first hearing the title, The Cher Show,  it sounds a little bit strange like it should be a talk show or something, and you might wonder why they didn't just called it Cher or something like that. However, upon seeing the show, the title begins to make sense. This is a show about  female empowerment. It is about a woman who was able to get out from under the thumb of a man (or any man) and take charge of her own life. The role of Cher is split between three actors in this production, Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks, and Michaela Diamond. All are terrific especially Stephanie J. Block who really has the Cher accent down (if you close your eyes you would swear you were listening to the real thing). The supporting cast is equally good especially Jarrod Spector who is spot on in the role of Sonny Bono. The costumes created by the actual Bob Mackie, Cher's real life costume designer, who is also a character in the show, are outrageously incredible and are a real nostalgia trip for anyone who has followed Cher's career as are the songs. If you love Cher, you will love this show. However, even if you don't her life's journey still makes an amazing story.

And that's Mom's view. Tune in tomorrow for another installment of our Working in Theater series in this week's Saturday Special.
