Macy's Flower Show

Me - Every year for a short period of time, Macy's in New York City has a flower show. They put out flowers all over and people can come and look at them. It is fun to go there and look at all the pretty flowers, and it is a good way to pass the time if you are waiting to go some place. The flowers are really pretty. I was happy to be able to go this year's flower show. One of the flower displays had a sculpture of a fish. The colors reminded me of Nemo, but the actual fish didn't. Not only was there a fish sculpture but there were actual live fish too. There was also display of flowers that looked like a dinosaur. All the flowers were amazingly beautiful. I enjoyed getting to see them. It was a fun experience. I would like to go next year to see if the exhibit is the same every year or if it changes from year to year.*

Mom - We recently had the opportunity to visit Macy's Flower show in New York City although they also had flowers shows in other locations including Philadelphia, and Chicago. This year's theme was America the Beautiful.  It featured flowers from different areas of the country. It featured exhibits with names, such as, The Enchanting Southeast, The Majestic Rockies, and The Midwest Fruited Plains.  They also had some other flower displays like flowers in the shape of a dinosaur and flowers in a star pattern. It was all very beautiful and colorful. There was also a fish tank with a bunch of large colorful fish swimming around in it. I am not sure if that was just part of the flower show or if that is always there. I haven't really been inside of Macy's since I was a little kid although I pass by it quite a lot, and this past year we came to see the store windows when they were all decorated for Christmas. I had forgotten how big the Macy's in New York is. Aurella thought it was as bigger than our whole mall. I am not sure about that, but it definitely is big. The flower show was free and was contained entirely in one or two departments of the store. It is a good thing because if it was throughout the entire store, it would take a very long time to go through the whole thing. Instead, it was just large enough to be a fun, entertaining and inexpensive way to spend a little bit of spare time in New York City. I would definitely go again.
