I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Let's Talk About The Library

Me - The Library, wow! Libraries are cool. I love the way they have almost every book for free to borrow. You can just go there and read for hours. It is always so peaceful and quiet. It is a really good place to relax. You can also use computers for research and stuff. They have so many different kinds of books. There are fiction and nonfiction. There are children's, young adult's and adult. They also have classes and storytime. When I was little I took a lot of the classes and went to story time.  You can also borrow movies,TV shows and CDs. However, the selection of these things is not as good as the selection of books. Sometimes, libraries sell used books. My grandmother's library has a big book sale every spring. I don't understand why you need a library card to take out books, and I don't understand why you have to live in a town to borrow books from a library. I like my grandmother's library much better than the library in our town, but I can't get a library card there because I don't live there. Libraries are a really fun place to go.
Mom - Although in some ways, libraries are obsolete, there is so much more to libraries than just borrowing books. Libraries have classes for children of all ages and sometimes for adults too. Libraries have storytime for little kids. Libraries have special activities and art projects for kids. Libraries show movies for kids and/or adults. Libraries have book sales. Libraries have special events. Libraries have computers you can use for free. Libraries sometimes have free passes you can borrow for museums and other places to go. These days you don't even have to go to the library to experience the benefits of the library. Many libraries have bookmobiles that travel around. Some libraries even have story time at the park during the warmer months. You don't have to go to the library to borrow a book either. If you have an e-reader, you can have an e-book sent straight to your  e-reader. The great thing about that is you don't have to remember to return the book. When your due date comes, the book is automatically sent back to the library. I love that because the worst thing about libraries is having to remember the date your books are due and make sure you return them by then. The bad thing about library e-books is that there are not nearly as many books available by e-book through the library as there are physical books in the library. Anyway, there is just something special about going into a library and seeing all those books especially if you're as avid a reader as Melia and I. Therefore, I am glad we still have libraries.
And that's our view. Do you ever go to the library? Why or why not?
