I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Still More Theater Saturday - Primary Trust

We received complimentary tickets to Primary Trust for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Primary Trust

Where: McCarter Theatre
              91 University Pl.
              Princeton, NJ

Who: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up

When: Through May 25, 2024

Primary Trust is a touching, beautiful story. Kenneth has difficulty connecting with others. In fact, Bert, his only friend, is imaginary. He spends all his time working at a bookstore or visiting his favorite restaurant, drinking mai tais and talking to Bert. When the bookstore closes, a waitress at the restaurant suggests he apply for a job at Primary Trust Bank, and everything changes for him. This heartwarming play by Eboni Booth won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

DeShawn Harold Mitchell is outstanding in the role of Kenneth. His performance just makes you want to hug him and be the friend he needs. He is joined by a supporting cast of three other very talented performers. Lilan Oben particularly stands out in a variety of roles. Not only does she switch from one to another in the blink of an eye, especially in one particularly fast-paced and exciting segment, but each character has a distinct voice and mannerisms. Shane Taylor and Peter Bisgaier are also terrific as the imaginary friend, Bert, and in several different roles, respectively. You won't want to miss this brilliantly written, extraordinarily acted show!
