I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where: NBPAC
             15 Livingston Ave.
             New Brunswick, NJ

Starchild: The Ballad of Debbie Walker is the story of Divinity Roxx, born Debbie Walker, musician, author, composer, Grammy nominee, and Beyonce's former musical director. The story is told in her own words and punctuated with music which keeps it from dragging on and getting boring. It is basically a one-woman show. She is only accompanied by two fellow musicians who do not appear on stage and only contribute musically to the show.

The show is greatly enhanced by the incredible set. It seems at first like an arbitrary collection of objects, signs, posters, and more. However, every single thing on the stage has a deeper meaning to the story.

Roxx's story will hold your interest although, for legal reasons, some of what could have been the most interesting parts of her story are left out, specifically details about her time working for and traveling with the legendary, Beyonce.  However, that being said, Ms. Roxx' has still had a fascinating journey, and her friendly manner and upfront demeanor draw you into her story and make it feel more like a gathering of friends than a show.

And that's our view. For more about Starchild: The Ballad of Debbie Walker or to purchase tickets, visit www.crossroadstheatrecompany.org/show/starchild.
