I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Still More Theater Saturday - Piaf! The Show

We were given complimentary tickets to Piaf! The Show for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Piaf the Show

Where: Town Hall
             123 W. 43rd St.
             New York, NY

When: This event took place on Wednesday, January 25, 2023

Piaf! The Show purports to be a show about Edith Piaf, however, it is more like a tribute concert. Natalie Lermitt performs Piaf's songs in the show. She has a nice enough voice, but there is nothing special about it. She certainly is not the singer that Piaf was known to be. Nevertheless, the show is quite popular throughout the world. It has been performed over 500 times in over 50 countries.

There actually was a show that told the story of Piaf's life. It ran briefly in London and then later on Broadway in the late 1970s early 1980s. This is not that show.

If you are fluent in French, it will definitely help make Piaf! The Show more enjoyable for you as all of the songs in the show are sung in the original French. If you are familiar with Piaf's music and not just familiar with her most well-known song, La Vie En Rose, you may enjoy this show even if you aren't fluent in French. However, if you don't understand French and you don't know Piaf's music you will be entirely lost.

And that's our view. For more about Piaf the show or to find out when and if it will be coming to a theater near you visit www.piaf-lespectacle.com/en/the-show.

Tune in tomorrow for this week's Sunday Scoop.
