I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Extraordinary Women With Cameras by Darcy Reed is a wonderful book about women photographers. It provides an overview of a wide array of women who have been successful in the field. They include fairly well known  women like Margaret Bourke White and Annie Liebovitz as well as lesser known ones like Kunie Sugiura and Franchesca Woodman. Additonally, this books provides definitions of key photography terms and  offers photography project ideas and tips for aspiring photographers. Although the book is geared to tween age children, it is really a fascinating and inspiring book for anyone especially those with an interest in photography themselves.     In my town in Western New York we had 10 FEET of snow between 2 snowstorms in 1 month...including in a Blizzard I am SO ready for Spring, and I am wishing for Winter to be over!
