I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Misc: Milkboy Swiss Chocolate Drink

Me - Milkboy Swiss Chocolate Drink is a great new product. It has everything you could want in a chocolate drink minus some of the things you don't like gluten and  GMOs. It is also dairy-free. It makes it easy to make the perfect glass of chocolate milk or mug of hot cocoa. Just add milk or milk substitute and stir. It's quick and delicious.

Books: The American Theatre 1962--2002 As Seen by Hirschfeld

Mom - Today we are recommending The American Theatre 1962-2002 As Seen by Hirschfeld. This absorbing book captures four decades of theatrical drawings by the preeminent Broadway caricaturist, the late Al Hirschfeld. It was said that when he was in his prime being depicted in one of his drawings was even more of a sign that you'd made it than booking a Broadway show.

The book is divided into sections by decades. Each chapter is introduced by a renowned writer, they include critic, Brooks Atkinson; playwright, Terence McNally; and columnist, Maureen Dowd, and each is chock full of Hirshfeld's most famous drawings. Funny Girl,  Amadeus, Miss Saigon, and The Elephant Man are just a small sample of the shows represented in this book. Joseph Papp, Stephen Sondheim, Chita Rivera, Cameron Mackintosh, and Tony Walton are just a few of the theater luminaries captured within its pages.

The book is a sequel to a previous book of Hirschfeld drawings released in 1961 as well as companion to the Hirschfeld exhibit at the new Museum of Broadway which opens today. Whether you are a big fan of theater or you just love books with few words and many pictures, you will enjoy this book. Even kids will enjoy looking at the pictures and finding the hidden Ninas (Hirschfeld's daughter whose name he hid in his drawings after her 1945 birth).

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
