I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Fifty Key Musicals & Movies: The Wedding Pact 2: The Baby Pact

We may have been given complimentary copies and/or access for review purposes to any products, and/or visual or audio media mentioned below. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: Fifty Key Musicals

Today we are recommending Fifty Key Stage Musicals edited by Robert W. Schneider and Shannon Agnew. This book details the most influential shows in Broadway history. Not only did these shows break barriers, but they had a direct influence on the development of future shows. Annie showed that you can make a show that appeals to both kids and adults and led to shows like all of the Disney Theatrical shows. Next to Normal showed that you can make a successful musical about serious subjects and led to shows like Dear Evan Hansen. Dear Evan Hansen, in turn, harnessed the power of social media not only within its storyline but also in its advertising leading to shows like Be More Chill and The Lightning Thief which were literally propelled to Broadway by the power of social media. These are just a small sampling of the shows covered in this very compelling book. If you are a theater fan and you are interested in the history of theater, you are not going to want to miss it!

Movies: The Wedding Pact 2: The Baby Pact

Today we are talking about The Wedding Pact 2: The Baby Pact. This film is a sequel to the 2014 film The Wedding Pact. While you don't necessarily have to have seen that film to enjoy or understand this one if you are looking for romance you might prefer the earlier film. There is implied romance in this film, but not really any actual romance. There are also a lot of implausibilities in the film not the least of which is a puppet-obsessed judge who presides from the bench with his dog hand puppet and talks to it during the proceedings. In fact, the entire premise of the film doesn't really make sense. It revolves around a pregnant woman whose mother-in-law is trying to gain full custody of her unborn baby because her late son allegedly wanted her to. There are some good family moments and friendships in the film and a really cute baby. However, on the whole, this is just another sequel that seems unnecessary.

The Wedding Pact 2: The Baby Pact is now available on major streaming and cable platforms from Freestyle Digital Media, including iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, DirecTV, Dish, iNDEMAND, Vudu and FandangoNOW.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
