ANNOUNCES BRAND NEW VARIETY
SHOW LIVING FOR SIS
HOSTED BY BROADWAY ACTRESS &
ACTIVIST SIS
EXCLUSIVELY ON BROADSTREAM
Actress, activist, and sister to the people, Sis, has partnered with Broadstream to release her brand-new show Living For Sis, premiering November 1 exclusively on the streaming platform. In the Living For Sis variety show, we get to know the multifaceted, supernova talent, Sis, through thoughtful interviews, candid conversations, sketches, and electrifying musical performances.
A breakout star and one of the first openly Black trans performers to play a leading role on a Broadway tour, Sis starred as the iconic 'Ado Annie' in the national touring company for the Tony Award-winning revival of Oklahoma! Moving from stage to screen, she currently stars as 'Dunaway' in Ryan Murphy and FX's newest anthology American Horror Story: NYC. With a mission in life of franchising the disenfranchised, earlier this year Sis organized the Trans March on Broadway where she led more than 200 protestors to the heart of NYC's Broadway District calling on the industry to respect trans folks, especially Black and brown trans artists.
Special guests for Living For Sis include Kiaya Scott (The Fantasticks), Wynter Wiley, Chandrelle Lazard, Sierra Sterling, Lakaya Scott, Brandon Michael Nase (Cats), Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen, High School Musical The Musical: The Series), and Charity Angel Dawson (Waitress).
Vocalists in Living For Sis include Tatiana Lofton (A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical), Sierra Boudoin (Sisgendered), Najah Hetsberger (Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations), and Eden Espinosa (Lempicka). The Living For Sis band features Michael O Mitchell on piano, Senfu Stoney on percussion, and Hidayat Honari on guitar.

5) Emit Theatre’s binary-breaking 12th NIGHT premieres in November
Emit Theatre is thrilled to present a binary-breaking production of William Shakespeare’s 12th NIGHT, directed by Victoria Giambalvo (she/they). 12th NIGHT performs on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 at 7 pm. Performances are outdoors at El Barrio Artspace PS109 (215 East 99th St., between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, off the Q and 6 trains). In order to keep the play accessible, tickets are Pick-Your-Price from $1 - $48. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit EmitTheatre.org. After its El Barrio Artspace performances, the show will tour tri-state area schools for the remaining academic year.
Emit Theatre’s 12th Night turns the El Barrio Art Space’s courtyard into Illyria, where audience members explore the town and watch the story unfold. In this abridged version, Shakespearean text blends with colloquial improvisation to provide a deeper understanding of the story for audiences of all ages. The performance is sensory-friendly and interaction between audience and actors is welcome and encouraged for all ages. The show is recommended for ages 10 and up. Handwarmers will be provided.
lllyria is seeking change. The Illyrians know something in their culture is not working, but they can’t identify what. Perhaps, their restriction of the gender spectrum is to blame.
After being washed ashore, Viola disguises themselves as a man named Cesario and finds themselves in a love triangle between Orsino, the Duke of Illyria, and Olivia, the Lady of Illyria. A series of shenanigans challenges Viola’s ability to maintain their disguise while they interact with the intricacies of Illyrian society.
This adaptation challenges the gender binary by presenting Viola as a non-binary individual forced into a binary world. For this production, Emit Theatre has partnered with the Transgender Training Institute and is working with trans-advocate and performing artist Maybe Burke (they/she) to ensure the show is done safely for actors and audience members.

13) Present Perfect, A New Land, A New Song
a musical by Jaime Lozano and Nancy Nachama Cheser At 54 Below on November 8, 2022 at 7pm
54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents selected songs from the new musical Present Perfect by Jaime Lozano and Nancy Nachama Cheser on November 8th at 7pm. Mexican director, composer, arranger & orchestrator Jaime Lozano is back at Feinstein’s/54 Below fresh from his recent rousing successes at Lincoln Center to present one of his most personal musicals. What better way to spend part of Election Day than celebrating this new twist on the American Dream sung with infectious vitality, a Latin beat and lots of simcha.
Present Perfect follows stories from as close as ultra-Orthodox Borough Park to as far as Japan. When a young woman steps outside the confines of her insular religious Brooklyn community, she finds herself as much an immigrant in a new land as the recently arrived students she teaches in her adult English class. Lives intertwine as each in their own way struggles to belong, find love, and succeed in a new country. By the end, the students and their teacher find that, just like English grammar, rules are not always black and white, the answers are not always the most obvious, and life is best lived in the present. Present Perfect entertains, inspires, and authentically resonates with the spirit and complexity of the journey to find home. “Kudos to playwright Nancy Nachama Cheser and composer Jaime Lozano for this thoroughly engaging piece” The Day
Present Perfect plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on November 8, 2022, at 7pm. There is a $35-$75 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Live streaming is available for $25. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00 are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.

ANNOUNCES
URHERE
A NEW ONE-OF-A-KIND VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE PLATFORM
LAUNCHING NOVEMBER 9, 2022
The Obie Award-winning HERE (Founding Artistic Director Kristin Marting) is proud to announce URHERE, a new one-of-a-kind, rigorously curated virtual platform for outdoor and digital premieres. URHERE aims to occupy an important part of the art ecosystem which nurtures experimentation, sparks dialogue, and creates engagement with the local community. Supporting independent artists and ensembles, URHERE expands on HERE’s mission to support multidisciplinary work made by artists at every stage of their careers. While projects may take many different forms, the platform will focus on artists whose work captures a rich cross-section of risk-taking, new perspectives, and artistic disciplines. The platform will launch November 9, 2022 and will be located at urhere.art.
Responding to all of HERE’s virtual programming and non-traditional outdoor experiences, URHERE will house archival works from the HERE vault, and provide a seamless viewing and/or listening experience for new native digital and outdoor premieres. The works will primarily identify with one of the following two categories:
- Digital invites audiences from all over the world to experience new work by way of their computers, phones or headsets for a range of digital productions. Our platform will include native digital – virtual, augmented, and mixed reality – as well as live-streamed programming and more.
- Outdoor invites audiences to view free and accessibly-priced public works that transform both the public spaces of the city as well as public expectations of the role and potential of art existing beyond the borders of museums and stages. We will offer both local and internationally renowned artists the chance to share their work for a fixed period of time.
Whether engaging with a virtual performance, soundwalk or live-streamed event, audiences will access everything they need from one interface, cleverly designed as an interactive play space inspired by the well-loved strategic board game GO. For the first season, HERE has commissioned four artists to create new work to beta-test and help the organization evolve and improve.
