I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday Books: A Lady of Refinement & Movies: Petite Maman

We may have been given complimentary copies for review purposes of one or more of any books and/or other products mentioned below and/or complimentary access to any audio and/or visual media mentioned. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: A Lady of Refinement

Today we are recommending A Lady of Refinement by Linda Weaver Clarke. This is the second book of her new Women of Courage series. It is also related to her Willow Valley Historical Romance series and several characters from those books make cameo appearances in this book.

The current book is another charming addition to the author's collection of adorable romances. This time around the main characters are Serenity, an immigrant teaching reading and writing classes in her new homeland, and Johnathan, a man who takes her class partly to learn to read and write better but mostly to get closer to Serenity. It's too bad she has a rule against dating her students. This one just may be Clark's sweetest book yet!  If you love a great historical romance, you won't want to miss it!

Movies: Petite Maman

Today we are talking about Petite Maman. This short film with a supernatural twist is the story of young Nelly. When her grandmother dies, she and her parents go to her mother's childhood home to stay. While her parents are going through her grandmother's things, Nelly befriends a mysterious young girl who looks a lot like her. This film is somewhat moving, but it leaves a lot of unanswered questions. It is also completely in French with English subtitles so if you do not speak the language, and you do not like subtitled films, you might want to skip it. On the other hand, it is not too long and has an interesting premise so you may want to give it a try.

Petite Man will be in theaters starting this Friday April 22, 2022. For more information, visit neonrated.com/films/petite-maman.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
