I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: I'll Be You & Movies: Tethered

We may have been given complimentary copies for review purposes of one or more books and/or other products mentioned below and/or access to any audio or visual media mentioned. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: I'll Be You

Today we are recommending I'll Be You by Janelle Brown. Sam and Elli are identical twin sisters. As children sharing a role in a successful TV series, they learned how to fool people by pretending to be each other. As they grew older Sam was the messed up one with drug addiction and Elli was the successful one with the perfect life or so it seemed. Now, Elli has gone off on a retreat with a mysterious group called GenFem and their parents request Sam's help taking care of Elli's daughter, a daughter Sam knew nothing about. It's up to Sam to unravel the truth about her sister, and about GenFem, and what it all has to do with Elli's daughter, Charlotte. This book is about the tenuous bonds of family and how you can never really know what is going on with another person unless you truly put yourself in their shoes. Sam and Elli are both extremely flawed characters but their innate desire to improve their lives and be better people makes them easy to root for. The plot, which is full of interesting twists and turns, moves along at a steady pace until the book reaches its inevitable conclusion.

Movies: Tethered

Today we are talking about Tethered. This movie is about a blind young man named Solomon who lives on his own and is able to get around by tying a long rope around his waist that keeps him attached to the cabin where he lives. This film is billed as psychological horror, and it definitely lives up to that description. The scenarios you come up with in your mind are probably a lot worse than most of what happens on screen. The way the film is shot and the sinister-sounding music throughout the film make it seem like something terrible is going to happen at any minute, but hardly anything happens at all until the last five or ten minutes of the movie when everything happens at once. If you like a film that is just a little bit scary and doesn't get bogged down in explaining things, you may enjoy this one.

Tethered is available on streaming platforms. For more information, visit gravitasventures.com/tethered-2022.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
