I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Islander

We were given complimentary tickets to Islander for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own,

What: Islander

Where: Playhouse 46 at St. Luke's
             308 W. 46th St.
              New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 12 and Up

Islander is a charming little musical about an island girl who finds a mysterious stranger on the beach. This two-hander is never boring. It is touching and sweet and often funny.

In addition to playing the two main characters, Kristy Findlay and Bethany Tennick do a fabulous job of slipping in and out of various other characters who inhabit the island. They have the most gorgeous accents, and they are lovely to listen to. Their singing voices, which are enhanced only by live-mixing, layering, and using loop technology, are equally as beautiful. Every song in the show sounds amazing.

The whole show only runs about an hour and a half without an intermission, but you'll definitely wish it was longer. You won't want to miss this gem of a show!

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
