Head to Toe, the current exhibit at the Museum at FIT is extremely comprehensive more so than the typical exhibit at the museum. In addition to the usual items like dresses, skirts, and tops, there are a lot more hats shoes, and handbags as well as numerous accessories including sunglasses, jewelry, and more. The styles range from old-fashioned bonnets and parasols to leather dresses, denim boots, and a handbag shaped like a corset, and more. The exhibit illustrates the role accessories play in fashion and how they complete a look. 

If you are particularly interested in shoes The Museum at FIT has an online series completely devoted to shoes called Stilettos to Sneakers. This series includes four episodes ranging from just over 15 minutes to just under 30 minutes long focusing on footwear. It includes episodes on the shoe collection of the Museum at FIT, the Head to Toe exhibit, high heels, and sneakers. We may possibly talk more about this series in a future post.

The Museum at FIT is now open Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.fitnyc.edu/museum/index.php.
