I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Atlantic County Veterans Museum

What:
Atlantic County Veterans Museum

Where: 189 Route 50 S.
             Estell Manor, NJ

Who: All ages

The Atlantic County Veterans Museum is devoted to all branches of the military. It covers every war from the Revolutionary War Through Desert Storm/ Desert Shield as well as the Cold War and the Global War on Terror. Items in the collection include numerous different uniforms, pictures, posters, banners, and assorted artifacts like weapons, model airplanes, medals, and more. There is also a whole room full of  beautiful stained glass windows created by Veteran Robert Exler for American Legion Post 430.

Special exhibits include one on Her Story which focuses on the history of women and the military. It is not only about more recent days when women have actually been allowed to serve in the military. It covers the entire gamut of women's involvement in war from their essential support on the homefront in earlier conflicts through more current days when they actually fight right beside the men.

Another special exhibit focuses on the American Flag. It includes a poster depicting every incarnation of the American Flag from the original flag created in 1777 to the current flag which was created in 1960 when Hawaii joined the union. Several different versions of the flag are actually on display as well.

The Museum consists of two floors but it is accessible to all and does have an elevator. It is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For more information, visit www.atlantic-county.org/vetsmuseum.

Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
