I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday -Bowne & Co.

What: Bowne & Co.

Where: 211 Water St.
             New York, NY

Who: All ages

Me & Mom - Bowne & Co. Printers in the South Street Seaport has been in business since 1775, and they are still a working print shop. It is also like a museum. They have all different kinds of old printers. The oldest ones have to be completely done by hand. That type printing is called letter press. You can see a demonstation of that printer as well as some of the other old printers they have. They are real cool. The man who gives the demonstrations or at least the one who did when we went there was really nice and really knowledgable and happy to answer questions, which there were quite a lot of. Even when the demonstrations are not going on, you can still go in the shop and view the old printers. You can also go next door to Bowne Stationers and purchase items like postcards and things that were made at the print shop. All in all, a visit to Bowne & Co is very fascinating.

And that's our view.  Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
