Where-To-Go Wednesday - Forsyth Nature Center
What: Forsyth Nature Center
Where: 157 Lucas Avenue
Kingston, NY
Who: All ages
Me & Mom - The Forsyth Nature Center is a free outdoor learning center in the town of Kingston in the Catskill mountains. The Center offers numerous programs and events throughout the year. You can also just go there to convene with nature or visit the animals who inhabit the center. There are not a large number of animals to see at the center but there are some very cute ones. There are a couple of adorable bunnies. There are several different types birds including beautiful peacocks at least one chicken and some really fluffy looking birds. There is a cow. There is a very sassy inguana. The iguana is located inside a building, and you can see it through a glass window. When we were there, it scared Melia by sneaking up behind her, charging into the glass wall, and making a loud noise. Then, we swear it was laughing at her. It was one of the most amusing things we have ever seen! It was just hilarious! Other animals include goats, a pig and an alpaca with attitude that engaged in a staring contest with Aurella. There are also numerous beautiful flowers and some nice areas to just sit and relax and enjoy nature. It is a nice place to go for a little time if you just want to see the animals or as long as you want if you just want to enjoy the nice natural setting. Accordingly, it is a great place to go for all ages even children with short attention spans. It should be noted, however that is not a good place to get a good picture of most of the animals since many of their enclosures are made up very thick bars.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
