I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Let'sTalk About Laundry

Me - I don't like putting away laundry. It is very boring. I wish when you put clothes in a hamper it just immediately cleaned itself, and then put itself away. That would be great. That would be so cool. Having to put away laundry is the bain of my existence. I would way rather be doing anything than putting away laundry. I do not do my own laundry. However, sometimes I help my Mom with the laundry. I don't like sorting the laundry. I don't mind putting the laundry in the washing machine. I don't mind putting in the detergent. I don't like putting it in the dryer as much because than I get wet. I like taking it out of the dryer because it is soft and warm. It's especially nice taking it out of the dryer when it's winter and it's cold. I don't like folding it and putting it away though. I like helping with the laundry more at my grandmother's. She has a nice new washing machine and dryer that makes doing the wash so much easier. Over all, laundry is not the most fun thing to do but it is very necessary.

Mom - I love having fresh and clean clothes. I hate doing the laundry. I hate sorting clothes. I hate putting clothes in the machine. I hate putting clothes in the dryer. I especially hate when clothes are heavy and dripping with water when they come out of the washing machine. I hate taking clothes out of the dryer. I hate folding clothes. I hate putting clothes away. I miss having my own washer and dryer. We used to live in a house, and we had our own washer dryer. Now we live in an apartment, and we do not.  I don't like having to pay to do my laundry.  I don't like having to worry about having enough quarters to do all the laundry we need to do. I don't like not being able to do my laundry whenever I feel like it. I also don't like public laundromats or laundry rooms in apartment buildings.  Lots of people put their laundry in and leave it while it is washing. I don't like to do that. I don't want anyone else touching my laundry. When you use a shared laundry facility, people will move your laundry if it is done, and they need a machine. I hate that. I like doing laundry at my Mom's. She has a really nice new washer and dryer, and it is so much easier. It is also so much nicer than doing it in public. However, we live much further away from my Mom than we used to so we are not at her house very often in general let alone to do our laundry. We usually have to do our laundry in our building or at the laundromat. I really miss having my own washer and dryer. I don't even think I would mind doing the laundry that much if I could just have my own washer and dryer again.

And that's our view. What is your least favorite thing about doing the laundry?

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.

  1. I don't mind doing laundry at all. It is just the putting the clothes away after I have it all done. I have no idea why.

  2. Funny how the way we do laundry has not changed much over the last 50 years. Seems like it should have by now.
