I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Saturday Special - The Quantum Eye and The Magic of Bill Blagg

We were given free tickets to The Quantum Eye for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: The Quantum Eye

Where: Theatre 80 St Marks
             80 St. Marks Place
             New York, NY

Who: All ages

Me - The Quantum Eye is a mentalism show. It is more about mindreading then tricks. There was one part of the show in which he picked a woman and man from the audience and, and there was a lot more to the segment but as part of it, they each had to pick a number, and both of them and the mentalist had all randomly picked the same number. That was realy cool! In another segment, the mentalist picked out a random audience member and asked them to think of a friend's age. Then, he wrote down a bunch of numbers in columns on a piece of paper and every way you could possibly connect four numbers they added up to 47 which turned out to be the age of the audience member's friend that he had been thinking of. Only one part of the show did not go as planned. Four audiences members were chosen. They each secretly took a piece of paper or something like that. Three were green. Those were safe. They other was red. That was supposed to be the poison. The mentalist asked them all questions to determine who had the poison, but he guessed wrong. The fact that the one thing went wrong made it so much more amazing that everything else went so well, and that the mentalist was able to predict everything else so well. It was a really exciting show! I enjoyed it.

Mom - Sam Eaton is The Quantum Eye. He has been entertaining audiences with his mentalism show since 2006. In fact, his show literally holds the world record for the longest running one man show on or Off Broadway. The way he can seemingly pull information like numbers, pet names and other things that audience members are thinking out of thin air is amazing. It will make you believe that mind reading is really possible. The show is extremely family friendly and entertaining for all ages. It is also full of opportunties for audience participation for those who are interested in that sort of thing. It is about 90 minutes long but seems to go by much faster than that. Anyone can definitely enjoy this fascinating show or if you prefer you can bring the show to you with a private booking for your event.

Me - The Magic of Bill Blagg was really cool! He was a magician and not a mentalist, and he did a lot of exciting tricks! He did  a trick where he poured from a lemonade carton into different glasses and each time he poured a drink it came out as a different kind of drink. He gave the drinks to audience members who tasted them, and they really all were different drinks. He did a trick where he disappeared from the stage, and then he instantly appeared in the audience. That was awesome! He did a trick where he shrunk himself. That was really crazy. He used  a lot of volunteers from the audience. He tricked this one kid's parents into giving him 5 dollars by telling him it was going to be under his pillow. That kid also helped him with a trick because allegedly the kids wants to be a magician when he grows up. The kid was only like 7 though so it is likely that  he will change  his mind when he gets older. He also gave the kid a magic set. He gave a woman who helped him a shirt. He levitated her. However, most volunteers didn't get any prizes or anything they just had the fun of participating in the show. Over all, it was a really fun experience.

Mom - The Magic of Bill Blagg is a really terrific magic show. Bill performs many amazing tricks including many that you've probably  never seen before like one where he completely shrinks his own body. Bill Blagg  is not just a great magician. He also has a winning personality and a great sense of humor.  He has a great rapport with his audience which only adds to the audience's enjoyment of the show. His show is very family friendly and is perfect for all  different ages. The show also presents lots of opportunities for audience participation and sometimes (although not that much) participants may even receive a prize for their participation. This exciting show will keep your eyes riveted  to the stage throughout and keep you wondering how he achieves his amazing feats of magic. It is definitely worth seeing.
