I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: Win a Pair of Tickets to Neurosis Off-Broadway in New York City in the School Days Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the School Days Giveaway Hop hosted by Savings in Seconds

Just because the summer is ending doesn't mean the fun has to end. Now, the kids are going back to school, why not try to win something fun for yourself - a pair of tickets to the Off Broadway show Neurosis. Neurosis is a show about a  young couple who meet and fall in love, but their biggest problem in getting and staying together is the neurotic voices in their heads (which in this show are personified by another pair of actors). It sounds a little crazy but it's a really a funny show with some cute songs. It is not a good show for young children, however. It is recommended for ages 13 and up. For more information about this show, visit http://neurosisthemusical.com.  We will also be posting more about this show in this week's Saturday Special. To enter to win a pair of tickets, see below.

  4. Something to brighten your day, my niece was having a hard time sharing, so in order to teach her sharing is important we went to dinner.I had a gift card, after dinner there was a 20.00 balance. I asked her to look around and find a table that the people looked sad. She found the table and I asked her to go give them the gift card and tell them sharing is caring. I explained to her instead of coming back and eating yummy ice cream she now made a sad person happy. She had so much fun doing this and the message sunk in.

  8. Something to brighten your day: I paint rocks with kind words and phrases and leave them in public places for strangers to find. I put the hashtag #RaleighRocks on the back of them and people who find them can post a photo to the Raleigh Rocks FB page. I've done over 2000 rocks in the last two years. It brings me great joy to see the rocks are making others smile.
