I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Artistic Director Andrea Dantas embarks on New York Theater Company and Conservatory
World Premiere Production of VATICAN FALLS Scheduled for 2018--Carlotta Brentan Cast as Claudia
Conservatory Announces Open Calls on January 29, 2018 at TheaterLab

Parting ways with her former partner, in light of reports of inappropriate behavior, theater artist Andrea Dantas (“Fragmented Frida”) has established both the Andrea Dantas New York Theater Company and the Andrea Dantas Conservatory Theater School & Repertoire.

The Theater Company’s inaugural production will be Frank J. Avella’s “Vatican Falls,” a fictional work based on factual accounts and events, set against the backdrop of the Catholic sex abuse scandal. Ms. Dantas will direct the controversial piece. The play’s turbulent history includes the cancellation of the 2011 world premiere the night before it was scheduled to open in Rome, Italy.

Carlotta Brentan, who has been attached to “Vatican Falls” since 2012, has been officially cast in the World Premiere presentation. Carlotta Brentan first played Claudia, the female lead, in a staged reading in 2012, directed by Laura Caparrotti. This past June, she reprised the role in a presentation at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity and was nominated for Outstanding Actress.

The Conservatory offers two types of programs: a two-year course that faithfully follows The Meisner Technique as well as short courses that include: The Biopic Project, an advanced characterization class, and an Intensive Scene Study on Ibsen & Chekhov. Applications are currently being accepted via a letter of interest and interview with open calls being held on January 29, 2018.

Classes will be held at TheaterLab, 357 W36th St., NYC/Venue for “Vatican Falls” TBD.More information can be found by visiting: www.andreadantasnyconservatory.com.
