I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Movies: Benjy and The Stray

We may have been given screeners of one or more  of the below mentioned films for review purposes. This post may also contain affilate links. If you click on a link and make a purchase, we may be compensated. However, any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Me - Today I am recommending Benji. There were several Benji movies but I only liked the original one. It is about a stray dog named Benji. He would go all over town and everyone knew him. Every morning, he would have breakfast with these two kids. They loved him, but their Dad wouldn't let them have a dog, but there were hoping that some day that could get their Dad to change his mind. I liked the movie because Benji was so cute. I also liked the story and the way it ended. I think it is a good movie to watch with kids.  Even if you don't have kids, but you like animals I think it is a good movie for you to watch anyway.
Mom - Today I am recommending The Stray. The Stray is a similiar to Benji in that it  also involves a stray dog coming into the life of a family. However, this movie is not only more current, but it is based on a true story and was in fact, written and directed by the father of the family involved in the story. It is mostly a sweet story about how an animal can come into a family's life and completely change it.  Although, the story is full of adorable kids and a cute dog,  just be aware that is not merely a light fluffy film. There are plenty of light, happy and even funny moments in the film. However, there are sad moments too and a few that many be scary for very young viewers. If your child is especially sensitive you may want to skip this one. However, if you are tired of all the action films that seem to be practically all they make in Hollywood these days and/or the way nobody ever really seems to connect on a human level anymore but only through social media, then you will enjoy this touching movie about a stray dog that helps a family to connect. It is definitely a film that will stir your emotions without needing a ton of special effects to do so.

The Stray will be released in theaters this Thursday October 4, 2017. For more visit
