I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: Win a copy of From Bud to Blow in the Scream for Ice Cream Hop!

As the summer winds wind down we get our kids ready to go back to school and some of the them off to college. We hope we have prepared them well for what college has to offer them, and they make the right choices. However, for some kids the temptations offered by college life is too much for them, and their lives take an unexpected turn. The novel From Bud to Blow by Brian Connor deals with just this situation. Cory Carter becomes the victim of a fraternity hazing stunt. He feels humiliated, and he never wants to fill that vulnerable again. He takes charge of his life to the point that he eventually begins dealing pot and then harder drugs. Hopefully, this is the extreme and in most cases something like this is not going to happen. However, it does make for an entertaining read. For more about this book go to Tips for Tuesday: From Bud to Blow.  To win a copy of this book, enter below.

  1. My youngest granddaughter started college the first of this past year and I basically told her to do her studies but to also be mindful of where you are and the surroundings around you. She went to college about two hours away in a larger town than where she has lived all her life and I worried about her. She found some new and good friends there which was also a plus!!!
