I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Up Close: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel

We were given free tickets to Up Close: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.
What: Up Close: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel

Where: Westfield World Trade Center
             186 Greenwich Street

When: Through July 23, 2017

Who: Teens and Up

Me - Up Close: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel is an exhibit of the paintings that are on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel but larger and on the ground so that you can see them better. There was an audio tour. It explained what each of the paintings was supposed to be of. The tour was interesting. The paintings were fascinating. I had never seen any of Michelangelo's paintings from the Sistine Chapel before I went to the exhibit. I liked some of the paintings. However, I didn't like the paintings where the people were unclothed. Some of the paintings were really colorful. Some of them looked really realistic. Some of them didn't. If you listen to the whole tour, it takes a while to get around the whole exhibit. All in all, it was fun place to visit especially if you are interested in Michelangelo's work or his Sistine Chapel paintings.

Mom - Whether you have visited the Sistine Chapel or not, if you want to a close-up view of the paintings and/or learn more about them you will love Up Close: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. There you can stare at the paintings for as long as you like without getting a sore neck. Tickets are available for specific times unless you buy VIP tickets which allow access for any time during the day they are purchased for. However, once you have been admitted to the exhibit, you can take as long as you want to walk around and explore the exhibit. If you plan to take the audio tour, it will take at least a couple hours because there are quite a few paintings and all of them are discussed on the tour.  The exhibit is open to all ages. Children 12 and under are free. However, just be advised that the exhibit does include religious images and a large number of the images are nude. Up Close: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel will be at Westfield World Trade Center through July 23 before moving on to seven other Westfield locations around the country. The exhibit is open during mall operating hours from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily.

For more information, to purchase tickets, or to see a schedule of future dates and locations for the exhibit go to https://www.westfield.com/upclose.

Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
