What: Jenkinson's Aquarium
Where: 300 Ocean Avenue
Pt. Pleasant, NJ
Who: Ages 5 and up
Our view: While it is fun to visit an aquarium and wander around by yourself, it is fun to take a guided tour as well. On the guided tour at Jenkinson's you will learn a lot of interesting information about the sea creatures found there. A lot of school, camp, and/or scout groups take the tour at the Aquarium especially during the week. However tours are available for families to participate in as well. They require registration in advance and an additional payment beyond the standard $11.00 for adults and $6.50 for children and seniors which is the cost of general admittance to the aquarium. Additional costs vary but are generally not more than $10.00 extra. In addition to guided tours, there are various special events at the aquarium. Prices for these programs also vary. Age requirements for the different programs vary as well. All ages are welcome to view a feeding of the seals, penguins, and/or the sharks. Feedings are held three times a day. There is no cost to view a feeding. For more information about the various tours and programs available and/or for feeding schedules for the seal, penguins, and sharks go to http://www.jenkinsons.com/aquarium.
