I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

             2 Columbus Circle
             New York, NY

When: Through October 4, 2026

The Burke Prize is a contemporary art award established by the Museum of Arts and Design. It is awarded yearly to an artist under 45 who works with glass, clay, metal, fiber, or wood. The winner receives a cash grant and a display of their work in the museum, among other things. Other finalists also often have their work displayed in the museum.

This year's Burke Prize winner is Hai-Wen Lin. They blend fashion, sculpture, and kitemaking to explore the relationship between the body and the environment. Their unique creations can either be worn or flown.

And that's our view. For more about this exhibit or to purchase tickets to visit the museum, go to madmuseum.org/exhibition/2025-burke-prize-hai-wen-lin. For more about Hai-Wen Lin, go to www.haiwenlin.com/about. For more about the Burke Prize, go to madmuseum.org/opportunities/burke-prize.
