The Burke Prize is a contemporary art award established by the Museum of Arts and Design. It is awarded yearly to an artist under 45 who works with glass, clay, metal, fiber, or wood. The winner receives a cash grant and a display of their work in the museum, among other things. Other finalists also often have their work displayed in the museum.
This year's Burke Prize winner is Hai-Wen Lin. They blend fashion, sculpture, and kitemaking to explore the relationship between the body and the environment. Their unique creations can either be worn or flown.
