The name of this show is a misnomer. Although the name implies the show will be a revue of songs from Al Tapper's musicals, his musicals are barely touched on. Rather, the show is a revue of other songs the prolific composer has written.
There are humorous songs, including songs about Putin and the notorious Joey Buttafuaco who became known when his teenage girlfriend shot his wife in the head a bunch of years ago (although some people may not think these two men in particular are appropriate for these types of humorous songs). There are numerous heartfelt love ballads. There are also a few other songs.
The songs are performed by a beautifully voiced four-member cast. Aside from a humor-laden intro at the top of the show and a similar outro near the end, the cast doesn't really speak; they only sing. Each song is introduced by Al Tapper himself, who appears on tape to provided information regarding each song. This is helpful. Otherwise, the evening might feel like a confusing blend of disparate songs, especially when you throw in ones like the aforementioned Putin and Joey Buttafuco songs.
Although none of the performers stand out more than any other, one person whose work does stand out and is worthy of special mention is projection designer Mark Childers. Whether it's old-fashioned photographs, drawings of flowers, or the Joey Buttafuco story in cartoon, his work really enhances the show.

If you are looking for a show with an overriding story, you won't find that here. However, if you are looking for a mostly light little evening of song, you may enjoy this show.
