More Theater Monday - Audra McDonald Concert at NJPAC

We were given complimentary tickets to the Audra McDonald concert at NJPAC for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

When: This event took place on April 29, 2023

On April 29, another theater-related event was held at NJPAC when Broadway favorite, Audra McDonald headlined a concert at the venue. The evening included favorites she has sung in some of her previous stage roles, such as, When I Marry Mr. Snow from  Carousel and Summertime from Porgy and Bess and more along with other songs. In between songs, she cheerfully spoke to the audience about her life and more. Although the discourse did get pretty serious and somewhat political at times, Ms. McDonald didn't espouse any views that did not fully support the equal rights of all human beings. If you find this offensive, you are probably not the right audience for one of her concerts. However, that would be your loss as Ms. McDonald literally has one of the most beautiful voices in the history of the world, and it would be a shame to miss any opportunity to hear her sing live.
