Where: 354 W. 45th St.
New York, NY
There's a new Off-Broadway Theater in town. The 99-seat AMT Theater recently opened at 354 W. 45th St. in New York City, right in the heart of the theater district. The location previously housed the Davenport Theater. However, extensive work has been done on the theater since then, and it shows.
AMT Theater's Producer, Al Tapper, and Artistic Director, Tony Sportiello's plans for the theater include not only presenting shows but they are hopeful that the theater will become a community gathering space. In that regard, the theater will not only host small shows, but it will be an affordable place for artists to test their new works. Theater classes will also be held at the theater.
The premiere production at the venue is An Unbalanced Mind, a five-character musical revue written by Mr. Tapper. This production will only be running through August 23. Another production currently running at the venue is the musical Love Quirks. Love Quirks will run through September 3. The next production, the comedy spy thriller, Our Man In Santiago, will open on September 16.
