Me- Attending a Greenwich Village Italian Food Tour was a pleasant and fun way to spend a couple hours. We got to try a bunch of different foods. I enjoyed most of them. Some of the foods I especially like were rice balls and ravioli.
Our tour guide, Greg was really nice. He didn't just talk about the foods. He talked a lot about history too, and it was all very fascinating not like when you learn history in school. He also knew a lot about the restaurants where we got food from and the people that worked there and/or owned the shops. It made it more like we were visiting people rather than just restaurants which made it even more enjoyable.
Even though it was a walking tour, we got to go inside a lot of places and sit down a lot as well. Greg also provided water for us. I really appreciated these things because it was an especially hot day. The tour was so interesting that it felt like it went by really fast. I would definitely recommend touring with Greg.
Mom - If you are looking to learn a little bit about everything Italian, the people, the place, and especially the food, you are absolutely going to want to take one of Greg Walks NYC's Greenwich Village Food Tours. Greg is extremely knowledgeable and intimately familiar with the area he covers as he himself grew up there. He can not only tell you everything you need to know about the food you will sample but about the stores each morsel of food comes from as well.
Although you will learn a lot on this tour it is definitely not all talk. You will get to try plenty of delicious food along the way. The vast array of samples available to you will range from foods that most people are familiar with like ravioli and/or prosciutto to foods that you might never have heard of like chocolate noodle pudding and/or Brazilian Brigadeiro. You'll even get to try some extremely fresh mozzarella. All in all, Greg Walks NYC's Greenwich Village Italian food tour is a delightfully flavorful, fun, and informative adventure that almost anyone can enjoy.
